Customer Feedback

We welcome feedback from customers, both positive and critical, as it helps us to improve the service we provide. We read all the reviews left on Trip Advisor, Google and Facebook and do our best to act on any concerns raised.

We currently have 4.6 stars on Google and 4.5 bubbles on Trip Advisor and we are very pleased that the majority of visitors enjoy their time at The Church House Inn.

It always concerns us when someone feels that the quality of our food or the level of service fails to meet the high standards we all expect.

As as matter of policy we do not reply to reviews left on any of the above platforms. This is mainly because, unfortunately, many people exagerate when they have a problem and others simply twist the facts to suit their point of view.

For example, here are a couple of one-star reviews, lifted from Google, both from August 2018:

Firstly, we are sorry that this lady was disappointed with her food. However she doesn’t mention in her review that she ate it all. All of it. Left nothing. We accept that the waitress did not check this particular table, an oversight for which we apologise. However, we were unable to acknowledge that there was anything wrong with the food. Had she complained to one of the waitresses earlier, we would have replaced the meal. We don’t feel we had the opportunity to address her concerns, obviously she disagrees.

Second example:

This is interesting. Firstly we don’t believe this reviewer has even visited our pub. PerhapsĀ  they are a relative or friend of the person we ‘got rid of’, or someone with an axe to grind. Hiding behind a made up name, demonstrating rather well that you can say whatever you want on social media, without having to worry about such things as telling the truth. This review is a work of fiction. It is not true that the food has gone downhill over the last couple of years, and this is supported by the vast majority of good reviews we get.
